Reunion time...
Tamales...
WEEK 41. So many things I want to write about piling up!! One of them...
how my week started on Thursday, December 2nd. That day I took off early
and drove to Atlanta. I had the most wonderful lunch with Chris, Beth, and Kat.
Kat is Beth's sister, and had recently returned home from her exciting adventure
of traveling through Europe and Morocco. I will be writing a full post on this very
special day we all spent together. I might even write TWO posts!! One on this
day, and another one about Kat and her travels. BUT I will stop right here, and
add a couple of her photos in Morocco to tantalize you...
As I was saying...lunch fantastic ...and I enjoyed the movie we saw so much that
the following day I wrote, DISNEY'S TANGLED...,
Then on Friday I see the following on facebook:
Cary Aragon Bernal PRIMADA BERNAL!!!! Alla voy CIEZA,,, con MAMI en
el corazon!!!! QUE ILUSION!!!!
Translation: COUSINS REUNION BERNAL!!!! Here I go CIEZA...with
MOM in my heart!!!!
I could NOT believe what I was reading!! My sister Cary heading to our mother's
home town!!! Just a few months back we had reconnected with my MOM's side
of the family. They still live in Cieza, Murcia...a beautiful town situated in the
South-East of Spain. I was so happy she was going...and sad at the same time
because I sure would have loved to go. I haven't seen them since I was 16 years
old!! But...this deserves a full post!!(One more to add to the list!!). So I will stop
right here and add a couple of photos of that very emotional cousins reunion...
Here are the two Carmen's...cousins reunited after 38 years!!
Thank you facebook!!!
I believe my mom's side of the family is as nutty as my dad's or even worse!!!
What a great time they had!!!
On Saturday the 4th, I had some free time and decided to sit down and write a
little story, starring my grandson Alonso. Please check it out...it's guaranteed to
make you laugh!!! Mr. Potato goes to Wall Street.
Really...Who can resist this Mr. Potato?
This post gave me a fun break from writing a more serious story that I
was trying to finish...WEEK 40...Finding ME.
Oh, I almost forgot!!! On my day off...Maricela and her family came over to my
house and she taught me how to make tamales!!! This day was a delightful...we
talked, made tamales, and later ordered pizza...which we ate while watching a
Christmas With the Kranks! Unfortunately, something was wrong with my camera
and the photos came out very strange...
Oh, wait ...this is my niece, Carol, and that's not the photo I am talking about!!!
But this is another post ...yeah...what a trip!!
Here it is!! Maricela making homemade tamales...with roasted Poblano
peppers and quesadilla cheese!! D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!
I will never forget this day...
and not a bad week at all!
