Thu 11 - Wed 17
From my video department, I hear the activity, I see the long lines, the
large shopping carts overflowing with holiday food, people are getting ready...
Thanksgiving is around the corner.
With Pepe in Spain, it's not going to be the same. I fear a bumpy ride through
the holidays. It will be the first time without him, on Thanksgiving, Christmas,
and New Years! I know I am not the only one in this situation, so many people
are going trough the same...I guess I will fasten the seat belt tighter, and get
through these holidays as best as I can, setting my hopes on February, when
we will be together again...in our house...for two weeks. And that is all I care...
Meantime, I live day by day, and blog...just as I have been doing the last
38 weeks. My blog, I would have never imagined how much I was going to
love writing here.
So what's new this week? Hmmmm let's see...Oh, I am a grandma again!
If you haven't read about it, go ahead and read this post:
I have a mysterious visitor from Switzerland, and I am dying to find out
who it is. I wrote LITTLE FLAG FROM SWITZERLAND. to see if she/he
would identify herself. However, she did not, even though I know she read
the post...not only that, but...she visited my blog at least 6 times during the
day. I really hope she says something soon. I am beginning to feel stalked!
One of my biggest surprises this week was seeing my family mentioned in
another blog! My daughter in law's sister, Katherine, is traveling around Europe,
and had spent a couple of days with Mayra. I have her blog on my side bar, so
I can keep up with her posts, and I clicked on her latest and VOILA!, I read a post
on her stay with my daughter! Here, go ahead and read, Friendly Smiles, Plane
Rides, and My New Favorite Country Morocco! Thank you, Kat, you made my
day. I wish you many happy traveling days!!
Sunday, my two favorite Mexican girls coincided in my video department.
Maricela, came walking from her apartment with the twins and Violeta,
just to say hi, and chat a little with me. Rosa, a bright eyed, bubbly, young
woman who's smile is contagious, came by to rent a movie. What
a surprise whenI found out they also knew each other! These two girls are dear
to me, but they want to fatten me up! Rosa, brought me these tacos
last week...
She made the flour tortillas from scratch, then filled them with a mixture
of scrambled eggs with chorizo, and black beans! I ate them all...ALL!!! Well...
in 2 days. I don't want to loose my beautiful figure!
Maricela, seems to want to adopt me as a second mother, and lures me
to her home with fresh taquitos...
Oh, you don't know how good these chicken taquitos are! These are fresh,
made from scratch corn tortillas.
We have a great time while we fry these in the kitchen, talking about our
day...the kids...anything!
Then we cover them with "crema", fresh Mexican cheese, and lettuce...
Yum!! Maricela's taquitos are the BEST!!
Besides eating taquitos this week, I have been going back to my photo archives...
searching around I found the photos from my last trip with Pepe, to Titusville,
Florida...
we had a great time...I am hoping that when Pepe comes in Feb. we can go and
visit my sister Hilda for couple of days.
Here's my sister Hilda...she's my oldest sister...but looks like the youngest one!
AHHH! Yes, I must visit and recharge energy with views like this. Well,
the guy at the peer I can do without...
Tuesday, I was steaming...well...my car was. On my way to work it overheated!
I stopped on the side of the road a couple of miles from work, and called saying
I was going to be late. Brian, sent Ricky to pick me up...but, we put some water
and it made it to Ingles. I must have been a blurry vision to some. An ugly purple
car slowly moving in a white cloud of steam!! Later I took it to a nearby garage,
thank goodness it only cost $40.00.
Wednesday, I had fun as always with Jillsy's ONE WORD WEDNESDAY. The word
was DYNAMIC, and I entered TOO MANY COOKS AND ONE CHICKEN. A DYNAMIC
RECIPE. So far it is the recipe with the most comments! Thank you to all that
liked it enought to comment...it means a lot to me. :)
I have been waiting for a while to have follower #63. Would you like to be it?
Please take the time...it shouldn't be important, but honestly...it is! It tells me
people find the blog interesting enough for me to keep writing. Although, either
way I will...because as you know I will write util the day I move back to Spain!
News Flash!! Read all about it!!
The LITTLE FLAG FROM SWITZERLAND. mystery has
been solved!! She has contacted me...I will soon post about
it...this is GREAT!!!
But...now I have a German one!
WEEK 38...Pepe, I love you! I miss you more and more...
