CHANGE OF PLANS
RUN, JASON, RUN!
MY LAWNMOWER AND ME
Week twenty three. Almost six months since Pepe left. I have adjusted to this
situation as best as I can, but the house is such a burden, and I miss him so much
that I have decided to change plans. It also serves a double purpose. Leaving in
September gives my daughter Sandra a glimpse of what life will be like if she
decides to stay and live her life here in the USA, instead of in Spain with us. I hate
to leave her while she is studying but ..it's only 3 weeks and she is an adult afterall.
It's time for mom to do what she wants to do!!! I am going to see him in mid
September...a month earlier than planned and I AM THRILLED!!!
Altogether, this week has been quite interesting. Right now, it's late ...Alonso is
sound asleep, and Sandra is working. I am feeling worn out...but, even so I will
take a few minutes to blog ...I want to be able to look back one day and
remember...
1) Every day of this week I have woken up at 5:30 AM. Why? Who knows! I am
tired and my body wakes up...By the end of the week I have slept 14 hours less
than usual...and it's taking a toll. My eyes are such a vibrant red...lovely!
2) One of the sleepless nights I enjoyed the photos, my friend Jo Lisa, posted
in facebook. I have known Jo Lisa since Jr High in California, and recently
reconnected thanks to facebook. Sitting at my desk at 5 AM, in a dark and quite
house, I joined my friend Jo Lisa as she spent a fantastic weekend in the
city of lights with her beautiful daughters. OH, LA LA!!!
3) Due to my sleepiness at work I went for an energy drink for the first time in my life,
and Red Bull gave me wings!!! Every day of the week...it gave me wings...
4) I have given up on my "crops"...I don't have the time to water daily, or care for
them. Result...sun dried tomatoes and fried peppers! Pepe and I used to take
turns, or we'd do it late in the evening together. I cherish those moments. Being
by myself has taught me that the things I enjoyed the most, like gardening were
only rewarding because we did them as a team.
5) ( Read ME AND MY GARAGE SALE... ) Tired of garage sales not turning out the right
profit, I put an add in the town's newspaper announcing my garage sale.
Which means...I won't have to be running around putting up signs!!!
6) Run, Jason, run!!! Our young assistant manager runs once more after a shop
lifter....This crook had a cart lined up with 12 pack cans of soda to disguise
the real loot: 6 slabs of ribs, 2 large packages of thick cut bacon, and a about
30 packages of rib eyes...yes, RIB EYE STEAKS, all covered by a huge bag of
dog food. Never ceases to amaze me!!! And PLEASE don't get any ideas....LOL!
Now, if Jason could catch the person that stole 17 DVDs this week in my department
it would be awesome.
AND YOU WONDER WHY FOOD PRICES HAVE GONE UP? HA!
7) My grandson Alonso is turning two this month, and I am planning on taking him
on a train ride ( http://brscenic.com/ ) that goes to the Tennessee border! Lots
to see out the window, especially the sunset...plus we get to get down in different
little towns and explore. I think it will be a great visual experience and a special treat,
since he likes Thomas the Train! Cant' wait to hear ALL ABOARD!!!
8) Now that I know I am going next month to Spain, I will start eating healthier,
hopefully I will loose the 12 lbs of stress -fat I have put on....Well...maybe I will
loose 5 lbs....
Benefits of a Mediterranean diet: Pepe's cholesterol has gone down 40
points in 6 months...without dieting!!!
9) I give myself a pat in the back...seeing that I was behind in writing "food stories"
I challenged myself to write 3 per week. I wrote 5 ...one after another. Ah, I love
writing those silly little stories. I could do several a day if I had the chance! It's
amazing to see how the brain reacts to stimulus...6 months ago, I could not write
a post card, and now ...I have so many stories in my head...and I have so much
fun with them! The fact that people laugh with them is very rewarding...
10) Last but not least, I have to make this the star moment of the week. My
lawnmower needed a tune up...a friend's husband picked it up and took it to the
shop. It is returned to me....I get home and my friend's son is mowing the lawn...
a storm comes along (of course!!!), and it has to be left with ...aahhhhhh, how
to describe it..."a pattern". The next day I decide to finish the job. I start the
lawnmower...hold the handle and it vibrated so bad that my hands were in pain
and my brain rattled!!! WHAT!!! After trying it several times...and leaving a much
prettier pattern on my front lawn, I gave up and called my friend to see if he knew
anything about it....
You know...the battle of the lawn won't be missed at all when I leave...
Delta take me away!!!
