ATTENTION: IF YOU HAVE NOT READ "THE KNOT" PART 1
DO SO NOW !!!
Wednesday 7, 2010.
I woke up looking like a 95 gallon roller-cart full of trash ran over me at full speed and dragged me
down hill. I am not kidding.....
Now, do you believe me???
Yes, it's SCARY !!! When I got up from bed, and passed the 4' by 3' gold and black framed
mirror hanging on the wall , I couldn't believe my own eyes. I had had to stop and look twice.
OH, NO! I had to take a picture of this moment to immortalize the surprised look of my sorry face !
What happened ? Well, what I had hoped to be a much needed restful night of sleep became
one more sleepless one. I woke up when I heard Alonso cry .He doesn't wake up at night
unless he is sick, or teething. He didn't have a fever ...maybe it's a tummy ache, I thought.
Sandra asked me to go back to bed, but I just can't do that, she's tired too! Result: 3 AM
tug-o-war. "YOU give me the baby and go to sleep" I said while trying to take Alonso from
her arms.
"NO, NO! YOU go to sleep." she pulled Alonso away.
"Sandra give me the baby, you have to go to school in a few hours" I said as I tried to reach again
for the baby.
"NO, STOP....GO TO SLEEP !!!" she snapped.
"Sandra! Please, I am off tomorrow, your not ! " I said while still trying to pull him towards me.
Alonso looked at us like we were nuts....and we were. Sleep lacking nuts.
And so we went on...She won, but I stayed up until he was feeling better and asleep again.
At 6:30 AM, when Sandra's alarm went off, I cringed in my bed. I felt my eyes burning as
I opened them. Let's see...I got up...passed the mirror. You know the rest.I headed to the kitchen
for some coffeee. As I went to take my first sip, I missed my mouth and spilled coffee on my T-
shirt. Did I care? NO.
Alonso woke up better and had no fever, Sandra dropped him of at daycare before heading to
school and I stayed home to solve the car issue. It was too early to call Oscar. No way
would I call before eleven. I had a few hours ...it was a nice day...why not start doing some
much needed yard work?
With my husband in Spain, I had to face all this mess, and much more....an acre of overgrown
weeds. You name it. I go it in my lawn. Pepe never showed me how to use the lawnmower...
.Maybe I should start raking old leaves...
but...the bushes need pruning too....
Then...the flower beds ...what's happened this year? Where do I start? I asked myself!
The front. The area close to the stairs. That's where I started.
